Identification

  • Medium-sized (11–14 mm), dark bronze to green with reduced white maculations.
  • Metallic reflections on head and pronotum; long legs for fast running.
  • Typically found in sandy or gravelly riverbanks and clearings.

Habitat in New Brunswick

Restricted to riverbanks, gravel bars, and open sandy areas along larger rivers in southern and central NB. Prefers sparsely vegetated, disturbed substrates.

Flight Season in NB

June 6 – August 28 (summer active; peak June–July).

Distribution & Notes

Localized in southern and central New Brunswick, primarily along major river systems. Rare and localized; habitat sensitive to flooding and development. More surveys needed to confirm full range.
